This article complies with version 0.95 of Runarcana RPG

Runeterra is a spheroid planet that orbits a Yellow Dwarf star in many characteristics similar to Earth as we are used to, but more data about other planets in this solar system are currently unknown.

The two continents we know are Valoran and Shurima, where most of the regions, countries, city-states or other forms of organized society of living beings, not always human, are located. In addition to these two continents, there is Ionia, an island continent and some archipelagos such as Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles.

What we currently know about Runeterra corresponds to ¹/₆ of its entire extension, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere of the planet. The rest of this world remains completely unknown.

• Bilgewater

Pirates and Buhru natives make up the majority of the population of Bilgewater, a group of islands located in what is known as the Blue Flame Archipelago.

• Bandle City

Bandle City is the homeland of the Yordles, a realm that lies between the spiritual and physical worlds where the laws of reality are different.

• Demacia

Demacia is a kingdom that values ​​justice, honor, and duty. Formed by refugees from the Rune Wars, it has a complicated relationship with magic.

• Freljord

An inhospitable land with unknown real borders, it is said that the deeper you enter this realm, the colder it becomes, until at one point in the far reaches, even the light is frozen.

• Shadow Isles

Once called the Blessed Isles, the archipelago now called the Shadow Isles had a golden past, but today any living being that enters these lands has their life slowly sucked out of them.

• Ionia

Called the First Lands, the lands of Ionia are home to a population marked by an understanding of how to live in harmony with the land. Unfortunately, these people also carry the burden of recent wars.

• Ixtal

Ixtal is isolated in the jungle east of Shurima, with a sophisticated arcological city called Ixaocan that has remained largely free of outside influence for centuries.

• Noxus

Noxus is an aggressive and expansionist empire, always seeking to expand its borders and conquer new lands. Its main creed is strength and that is exactly what it demands of its citizens.

• Piltover

The ancient city of Zaun was a Shuriman trading post to the north, but it was the creation of the sea gates of Piltover over three thousand years later that brought even greater prosperity.

• Shurima

Shurima is at the same time the name of a Continent, a Region and the capital of the Solar Empire of the past, an empire that fell but shows signs of a return.

• Targon

Targon is a mountainous region notable for Mount Targon, the most imposing mountain in Runeterra, which is said to be connected to celestial powers.

• Void

The Void is a force that seeks to consume absolutely everything. Where once stood a city called Icathia, today there is only a completely barren desert.

• Zaun
