O primeiro dever de um Portador da Verdade é o de encabeçar a luta contra os mortos-vivos. Estando fora do fluxo normal do universo, os mortos-vivos são considerados uma abominação em face de Nagacáburos. Apesar da proteção da população indígena contra o Tormento ser responsabilidade de todos os sacerdotes do Cráquem, a Portadora da Verdade batalha contra seus espíritos mais poderosos e faz a Névoa Sombria recuar.
