At Higher Levels. When cast as a 5th-level spell or higher, the damage of the element used becomes magical and grants resistance to cold or fire damage, depending on the type of shield. You can magically imbue a nonmagical weapon with elemental damage. For the duration, that weapon has a +1 bonus on hit rolls and deals additional damage equal to 1d4 damage based on the element used.
