You create a sound or image from an object within the spell's range, which lasts for the spell's duration. The illusion also ends if it is dispelled as an action or if it is cast again.

A sound can be created, the volume of which can range from a whisper to a scream. It can be your voice, someone else's voice, a lion's roar, the beat of drums, or any other sound of your choice. The sound continues repeatedly for the duration of the spell, or you can make small changes at different times before the spell ends.

If an image is created of an object - such as a chair, muddy footprints or a small chest - it cannot be larger than a 5-foot cube. The image cannot create sound, light, odor or any other sensory effect.

Physical interaction with the image reveals that it is an illusion, as things can pass through it.

If a creature uses an action to examine the sound or image, it can determine that it is an illusion with a successful Investigation check against the DC to avoid your spell. If the creature discerns the illusion, it becomes ephemeral for the creature.
