You quickly channel a burst of arcane energy. Make a melee spell attack against a creature within reach. On a hit, the target takes 2d8 energy damage. If you miss, you gain advantage on your next attack roll against the same target before the end of your turn.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using mana points equal to a spell of 2th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each level above 1rd level. When cast as a spell of 5th level or higher, the force damage becomes runic.
