A vertical column of your element roars from the heavens at a location you specify. Each creature in a cylinder 10 feet in radius and 40 feet in height, centered on a point in the spell's range, must make a Dexterity saving throw. It takes 4d6 magic damage based on the element used and 4d6 light damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Each of the elements has a secondary effect that can be seen in the table “Effects for Spells by Type of Damage”, this table is found in Chapter 10: Spellcasting.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell by expending mana points equal to a spell of 6th level or higher, the spell or luminar damage increases by 1d6 for each spell level above 5th level.
