Part 4 · Monsters & Creatures
Spectral Sharks
“She saw WHAT? I understand. Madness is a cruel companion, apothecary. At least the others still show a shred of lucidity.” – Demacian surgeon
Humans aren’t the only creatures affected by the Black Mist. Looking like something out of nightmares, Spectral Sharks are undead beasts that seem to swim through open air, making even solid ground unsafe from their advance.

Characteristics
Descycle. When reduced to 0 hit points, the Gloomtooth must make a Constitution check with a DC equal to 10 or half the damage taken, whichever is higher. This effect isn't triggered if it's destroyed as a result of sources that directly interact with the destruction of undead, such as the Spiritual Rite Acolyte's "Liturgy: Destroy Undead."
Empowerment. Whenever any creature is reduced to 0 hit points or dies within 30 feet of the Gloomtooth, it gains 1 Soul counter.
Empower Attack. The Gloomtooth can spend its soul counters to increase the damage of its attacks by 1 die for every 7 counters spent.
Mist Wraith. This undead is native to the Black Mist and is positively affected by it.
Bloodthirsty Smell. The Gloomtooth has 3 miles of Keen Smell that applies only to sensing blood; once it has caught the scent of a creature's blood, it has advantage on checks to track the source of the blood.
Clumsy. The Gloomtooth has disadvantage on skill checks that require dexterity or precision, such as acrobatics, lockpicking, or ranged attacks; on a failure, the result is always a critical failure.
