Part 4 · Monsters & Creatures

Raven

Ravens are abundant birds often seen in populous cities; they’re animals that fly with frequent wingbeats and are seen in large flocks, highly social, and capable of memorizing individuals, maintaining constant though basic communication among their kind, sharing information and alerting each other to dangers and curiosities.

Living in flocks, ravens know how to protect themselves; at first sight they’ll try to flee, but they’ll hold and nurse a grudge for years, capable of attacking and harassing whenever possible and when least expected, especially in flocks when the odds are favorable.

Collective. The Flock of Ravens can enter and leave the space of a creature that is the same size or smaller than itself; the space within the collective is considered difficult terrain, and the collective has advantage on attack rolls against creatures within it.

Split. The Flock of Ravens can split into another creature called a Flock of Ravens one size category smaller using a bonus action, losing half its maximum and current hit points, and its beak attack's damage becomes 1d2+2 in a direction 5 feet away. The new Flock of Ravens has the hit points taken from the original flock as its maximum hit points and has a Beak attack with a base damage of 1d2+2. A Flock of Ravens can choose to merge with another creature of the same name and size using a bonus action, adding their maximum hit points, current hit points, and damage die together.

Pack Tactics. The Flock of Ravens has advantage on attack rolls against a creature if at least one allied creature is within 5 feet of that enemy creature.

Beak. Melee Natural Weapon Attack, +4 to hit, 5 ft. reach, one target. On a hit, deals 4 (1d4+2) Piercing damage.
