Part 4 · Monsters & Creatures
Poison Frog
Poison Frogs are more colorful than common frogs, having a layer of poisonous mucus on their bodies as a defense mechanism.
Rewards
Venom
A creature with the Collector: Biologist or Apothecary Craft can collect the mucus of a Poison Frog to make use of it.
| Poison | DC | Check | Lv | Saving Throw | Process |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Poison Frog Mucus | 11 | Animal Handling | 1 | Constitution 12 | This venom must be collected from a dead or Incapacitated Poison Frog, Poison Frog Swarm, or Giant Poison Frog. |
Venom Effects
- Poison Frog Mucus (Contact). A creature that fails the collection saving throw becomes Poisoned for 1 minute, and can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending this effect on a success. Once collected, a creature exposed to this venom must succeed on a DC 12 Constitution saving throw or suffer the same effects listed above.

Characteristics
Amphibious. The Poison Frog Swarm can breathe air and water.
Keen Hearing. The Poison Frog Swarm has advantage on Perception checks that rely on hearing.
Collective. The Poison Frog Swarm can enter and exit the space of a creature equal to or smaller than its own size; the space inside the Collective is considered difficult terrain, and the Collective has advantage on attack rolls against creatures inside it.
Split. The Poison Frog Swarm can split into two Poison Frog Swarms of 1 smaller size category using a bonus action, losing half its maximum and current hit points in the process, and its Poison Spit and Tongue attacks have their damage dice decreased by one category. A Poison Frog Swarm can merge with another of the same size using a bonus action, adding their maximum hit points together and increasing its damage dice by one category. A Poison Frog Swarm can't be smaller than Tiny. A Tiny Poison Frog Swarm splits into 1d4 Poison Frogs.
Poisonous Skin. When a creature touches the Poison Frog Swarm without protection, it must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw, becoming Poisoned for 1 minute on a failure. A creature under the effect of this ability can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.

The Poison Frog Swarm can take an action and restore its reaction (if spent)
The Poison Frog Swarm can spend all or the rest of its movement
The Poison Frog Swarm can repeat a saving throw against an effect affecting it
