Part 4 · Monsters & Creatures
Drüvask
Although they have dark, curly fur covering their bulging musculature, their coat is mostly white to better adapt to Freljord’s snowy environment. They resemble a wild boar crossed with a hairy rhinoceros, with horn-like tusks projecting from the zygomatic bone and upper jaw, capable of goring and impaling enemies to the ground.
Young drüvasks are used for their meat, but if trained and left to mature into adulthood, they can be used as battle mounts. An adult drüvask is large enough to carry an adult Iceborn. The Winter’s Claw are known for using drüvasks as war mounts.
Their bodies are able to withstand true ice; some drüvasks used as mounts have several pieces of true ice fitted onto their shoulders, letting the drüvask make small true-ice attacks.
Rewards
Certain body parts of a Drüvask can be obtained after it’s dissected and used for various purposes, especially its Tusks and Fur.
Item Crafting
Materials obtained from a Drüvask’s body can be used to craft items:
- The Tusks of a Drüvask can be used by a creature with the Weaponsmith Craft to craft weapons that deal Piercing damage.
- Drüvask tusks can be used to craft the grip of a weapon made of true ice, reducing the negative effects of using it, making it equivalent to a true-ice object with a lower Potency and allowing its use for up to 1 hour by creatures that don’t have resistance to it (the saving throw still must be made).
- The Fur of a Drüvask can be used by a creature with the Fashionista Craft to craft different pieces of clothing and fabric. Garments and fabrics made from Drüvask fur grant advantage on checks against Extreme Cold.
