While the spell lasts, the next time you make an attack roll with a firearm, a ranged weapon, or a thrown weapon, that weapon’s ammunition or the weapon itself (if it’s a thrown weapon) transforms into a bolt of lightning. You make a ranged attack roll against the target as you normally would; if you hit the target, instead of the weapon’s normal damage, you deal 4d8 lightning damage, or half as much if you miss. Regardless of whether you hit, each creature within 10 feet of your target must make a Dexterity saving throw; each creature that fails the saving throw takes 2d8 lightning damage, or half as much on a success. The ammunition or weapon then returns to its normal form.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell by spending Mana points equal to a 4th-level spell or higher, the damage of both of the spell’s effects increases by 1d8 for each level above 3rd. When cast as a 5th-level spell or higher, the lightning damage becomes plasma.
