Lightning Blade

You conjure a blade of lightning in your free hand. The blade is similar in size and shape to a scimitar, and lasts until the spell ends. If you drop the sword, it disappears, but you can conjure it again with a bonus action. You can use your action to make a melee attack with the lightning blade. On a hit, the target takes 3d8 lightning damage. The blade sheds bright light in a 10-foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using Mana points equal to a 3rd-level spell or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each level above 2nd. When cast as a 5th-level spell or higher, the lightning damage becomes plasma.
